Transportation


The conference will be held in Kane and Meany Halls on the University of Washington's Seattle campus. Click HERE for a campus map which shows the location of Kane and Meany Halls.

Driving to and Parking on Campus

Driving North: Heading north on Interstate 5, take the NE 45th Street exit. Turn right onto NE 45th Street and continue east to 15th Avenue NE. The UW campus begins at the corner of NE 45th Street and 15th Avenue NE.

Driving South: Heading south on Interstate 5, take the NE 45th Street exit. Turn left onto NE 45th Street and continue east to 15th Avenue NE. The UW campus begins at the corner of NE 45th Street and 15th Avenue NE.

Parking is available in the Central Plaza Parking Garage. Take a right onto 15th Avenue NE. Continue south on 15th Avenue NE until you reach NE 41st Street. The parking garage entrance will be on your left. Stop at Gate 1, pay attendant and park where directed. Once you have parked in the garage, find the corridor labeled "Kane Hall" (northeast corner of the garage) and take the elevator to the appropriate floor.

Public Transportation

The University of Washington campus is well served by local and regional transit services. If you are traveling to Seattle by air, Seattle-Tacoma (SeaTac) International Airport is the nearest airport to the University of Washington. Drive time to/from SeaTac airport and the UW campus is approximately 30 minutes with normal traffic and up to 1 hour during heavy traffic.

METRO BUS SERVICE
Seattle Metro public transportation has an excellent trip planning website. The closest bus stops to Kane Hall are at (in order of proximity) 15th Ave NE & NE Campus Parkway, NE 41st St & University Way NE, and at the Husky Union Building (HUB). TAXI CABS

All Seattle taxi cabs operate at the same rate, set by King County: $2.50 meter drop and $2.70 per mile. Extra-person charges may apply. For more information visit the local taxi service website.

AIRPORT SHUTTLE

Shuttle Express is a 24-hour service providing pick ups and drop offs 24 hours a day. Reservations are highly recommended, however walk-ups at the airport are accepted. Rates are $38.00 one way (per person) or $76 round trip (+ a 10% discount) for travel between the airport and the University district. Reduced rates are available for groups for 2 or more. LINK LIGHT RAIL
A great and inexpensive way of getting into town from the airport is Seattleā€™s new light rail system which opened in 2009. To get to UW using Link Light Rain, take the train from the airport to Westlake Center, which is currently the final stop for the train. From Westlake Center you can take one of several buses to the University District (see the summary for "Metro Bus Service" above). Total commute time is about 1 hour.
